BIKING ALONG LACHINE CANAL-21ST JUL 06

I finally get to put these pics up after failed attempts with my bad internet connection.

We began our journey from Old Montreal and biked along the Lachine Canal towards the Lake St. Louis and back along Lasalle facing the Rapids along St. Lawrence River. From residentials to shipping containers to industrial buildings to the waters and the greeneries, there were lots to see along the way. We also went past several historic sites like the fur trade museum and the moulin flemming windmill.

What would perhaps be an ordinary ride was hyped up by our protaganist of the day - Sherry -when she actually jumped out of her bike to avoid a fall down the slope! It was a blessing that she was alright though the bike ended up with a slight misfortune of damage brakes. The event occured in the middle of Lasalle where after calling and waiting for more than 25 minutes for taxis to drive her back, we had to resort to calling the hero - Jerome to come to the rescue! He managed to repair the bike with his handy bike kit within half hour. By then, it was 630pm and we had to cycle back to the bike shop without stopping and it was a spit of cold sweat when we just managed to reach the door step at 8pm - just before it closes!

Total distance: aprox 35km

*note: you have to wash your hands in the lake st. louis because they left out the lavotory in the design!
