INTERNATIONAL FLORA FEST @ OLD MONTREAL

I finally get to catch this annual flora fest this year since I was always back in Singapore during this time of the year for the past few years. This year, the theme is "la passion des jardins" or "the Garden Passion". I thought that it was pretty interesting to see the many different concepts of garden designs. I wouldn't mind waking up in the middle of the health garden with all the spices and fruits and vegetables around me, so I may just pluck them as and when I like....or to live like the three little pigs in the hay-made garden "Once Upon A Time There Were Three Little Pigs..." and get to smell the grassy-hay every day when I wake up...

One garden did impressed me quite a bit. It was by Claude Cormier, a local landscape architect. The garden was very much the abstract " Claude Carmier" style with his love for such bold and bright colours. From far, it looked like a garden made of gigantic plastic straws. It was only nearing it that we realised that it was a garden made of wooden sticks painted blue as its name "The Blue Stick Garden" is so named. Yet, a pleasant surprise was called upon us as soon as we turned our heads around when we were inside. The blue sticks had instantaneously changed into bright orange! At that precise split second, there was a slow motion pull through of the tweening effect and it was exactly like those flipping animation books where each flip represents a change of movement!
It was 3pm - the time of the day when the sun was strong, if not the strongest (at least psychologically as always), but for some weird reason, the bright orange had its mesmerizing effect on us and made us forget about the hot hot sun for a while...
